Culture Blog at be+cause, we think a lot about culture as a powerful vehicle and arena for change. It is also something we like to create--from producing the Tibetan Freedom Concerts to starting a clothing line to assisting other culture makers in their efforts to create positive social change. Being part of a lab (our parent company is C3 Lab), we like to innovate and experiment. This blog is where you can see it happen.

Soundtrack to the Movement
Our favorite music gets highlighted on Alternet.org as "Soundtrack to the Movement".
All of us who love music feel like we were somehow saved by it. For these artists in Oakland that make up Youth Movement Records, music has literally saved their lives. Many of them have grown up in the roughest parts of the city with the odds stacked against their favor. With their talents and their stories these artists are creating the newest and latest sound sensations this side of the Bay and country: authentic and of the moment - CHANGE THE NATION is what America sounds like.
